Cedar Hill Student Scholarship Program
The Cedar Hill Lions Club Charities, Inc. is accepting applications for the 2010 Cedar Hill Lions
Club Charities Foundation Scholarship Program. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist
2010 high school graduates from Cedar Hill High School and Trinity Christian School - Cedar Hill
with a $1000 scholarship as they pursue their educational goals at an accredited college or
university within the United States.
There are two one-time $1000 scholarships available and will be awarded to a total of two
students and disbursed directly to the student. The amount of $500 will be disbursed to the
student for the Fall Semester and $500 for the Spring Semester. The student must provide a
copy of their fall and spring semester statements in order to verify enrollment.
To be considered, applicants must have a 2.5 or higher GPA (based on the 4.0 system), be a
2009 graduate of Cedar Hill High School or Trinity Christian School – Cedar Hill, Texas. They will
submit a 300 – 500 word essay about the importance and benefits of community service. They
should draw upon their own experiences, beliefs, and the experience of members of their
community. Applicants will also supply three letters of recommendation.
The deadline to apply is June 1, 2010. Applicants will be notified of the Scholarship Committee's
decision by August 1, 2010.
